Ardoch’s 10th Annual Golf Day has raised an amazing $60,000! Rounding off a successful year for Ardoch, these funds will go towards supporting our education programs that work to close the gap in educational outcomes experienced in some of Australia’s most disadvantaged communities.

The sun was only just beginning to rise as all 72 golfers arrived for registration and breakfast at the Metropolitan Golf Course. With wind and rain on the forecast, participants looked undeterred as they made their way from the shelter of the club-house to the first tee where they received a rundown of the day’s events.

Led by PGA champion and Drummond Golf Ambassador Brett Ogle, teams took their mark at 8am sharp to begin the four aside Texas Scramble competition. Golfers and non-golfers alike drove, chipped, put (and occasionally hooked) their way around the magnificent 18 holes of The Metropolitan Golf Course just one week after the World Cup of Golf. After a close contest between the 18 teams, Bitu-mill emerged victorious.

The reception back at the club-house began with a presentation from Kylee Bates, Ardoch’s CEO, to welcome sponsors and teams and thank them for their ongoing commitment to Ardoch’s vision. The guests also heard from Ardoch’s Chairman, Barry Borzillo, about why he is so passionate about supporting disadvantaged schools, before a video from the Principal of Dandenong Primary School demonstrated the positive impact of Ardoch’s programs on their school community.

Auctioneer, Phil de Fégely then hosted the much-anticipated Live Auction. All items were generously donated by participants and included a Connoisseurs Wine Package, an Oscar Hunt Tailor fitting, a Big Swing Golf session with Brett Ogle, a Tim Minchin Experience and a Great Ocean Road getaway.

A special thank you to our Event Partner Drummond Golf, our Silver Sponsors Intrax, Bitu-mill and AEFS and our participating teams from Heritage Group, Latitude Financial Services, Spinach, Noisy Beast, Golf Australia, Joff & Co., East Golf and NAB for making the event such an outstanding success.
