Taking a big swing for children’s education – adidas Ardoch Golf Day

When: 24 May 2022

As dawn broke on a crisp Monday morning at the pristine Metropolitan Golf Club, 19 teams readied themselves to start the week with a round of golf. But before you think, “it’s alright for some”, these teams weren’t just there to enjoy some peace, quiet and friendly competition on the green. These teams had signed up to take a swing for children’s education, in support of our 13th adidas Ardoch Golf Day.

76 participants were treated to a diverse experience, from testing their accuracy to Beat the Professional, to bidding for exclusive auction items, to hearing from Terry Gardiner, Principal at an Ardoch Partner School, who detailed the struggles of schooling these past two years, and the importance of strong education program support provided by Ardoch.

While The Heritage Group took out the day as overall champions (congratulations to Candice and the team), everyone attending contributed to a bigger result, with over $70,000 raised for Ardoch’s education support programs. These vital funds will go a long way in helping students facing disadvantage to receive the support they desperately need to overcome the challenges of social and economic disadvantage that have only been heightened since the COVID-19 pandemic.

For joining us is taking a big swing for children’s education, we’d like to take this opportunity to thank adidas Golf as Naming Rights’ sponsor, BildGroup as Gold Sponsor, Latitude Financial Services as Silver Sponsor, and Drummond Golf as Event Partner, alongside the generosity of those who pledged a donation, purchased a raffle ticket, or bid for that special item in the fundraising auction.
