Working with Children Check

As an Ardoch volunteer you are required to have a WWC check in the state in which you are volunteering.

This is referred to as a Blue Card in QLD

Criminal History Checks

Ardoch actively promotes the protection and wellbeing of children and young people. All staff, contractors, and ongoing volunteers at Ardoch are required to undertake a National Criminal History Check. Ardoch organises this through a provider called CrimCheck. Ardoch covers the cost of this check and further details will be provided about how to apply.

In accordance with Ardoch’s Child Safety Policy, we request that volunteer applicants disclose the details of any past charges and/or criminal offences for which they are currently under investigation. An applicant will not be automatically precluded from a volunteer placement on the basis of having a criminal record. Ardoch will examine the relevance of an individual’s particular record in relation to the requirements of the volunteer role. All information supplied by the applicant will be treated with strict confidentiality.

International Police Checks
If you have resided overseas in the past 12 months, it is also a requirement to undertake an International Police Check for the country/countries where you lived. This is also completed through CrimCheck at no cost to you as a volunteer.

Reference checks

Please provide the names of three referees who have known you in a work or community setting (other than a family member) for a minimum of twelve months. In selecting your referees, please select people who can speak objectively about your suitability for the position.
